First Step are looking for an experienced, reliable and enthusiastic Admin/Reception volunteer to assist the Centre Manager with reception and general administration support duties
MAIN OBJECTIVES:
• To work as part of the administrative team, in line with First Step’s Vision, Mission and Values
• To liaise with the Centre Manager to ensure priority of work to be undertaken
• To provide a wide range of administrative support to the First Step Team as directed by the Centre Manager
• To answer telephone calls in a friendly, professional manner and direct enquiry appropriately
• To greet visitors, families and staff in a friendly and professional manner
• To ensure visitors sign in and are assisted appropriately, when covering reception
• To comply with all First Step Policies and Procedures including Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Data Protection and Equality and Diversity
• To undertake training as required for the role and take part in regular supervision
DESIRED SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
• A good standard of education with excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Professional and warm telephone manner
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows
• Ability to work to deadlines and able to juggle priorities
• Ability to work as directed, as part of a team as well as independently
• Ability to recognise if problems outside of own ability
• To be friendly, reliable, organised and flexible
• An understanding of COSHH or IOSH would be an advantage

You will need to be available for a minimum of one 4 hour shift per week. Times and days to be discussed with the First Step team. A minimum of one years commitment is required for this role
