Age UK RBH
Age UK Redbridge, Barking & Havering exists to improve and maintain the quality of life for older people living in the area. We seek to achieve this aim by ensuring that older people have dignity, respect, choice and that their voices are heard and that services are provided in a sensitive and approachable manner. We offer advice, help, social activities and volunteer opportunities for older people
The “Forget-Me-Not” Visiting befriending service helps to reduce the social isolation of older people, promote their mental well-being and acts as a health monitoring service. Volunteers enjoy having a chat, share an interest or hobby and develop a genuine rapport
You will be confident when talking one to one and have experience of working with or helping older people.

Visits are usually during office hours, but there is flexibility if both the client and volunteer agree to meet early evening or Saturday. Volunteers need to give at least 1 hour per week for a minimum of 6 months. We try to match volunteers locally to reduce travelling
