Havering Shopmobility Association

Could you bring your skills and experience to help others who need and value your support ?

We are looking for ordinary people to help modernise our service.  Trustees oversee the work of the charity on a voluntary basis, making sure we do what we are set up to do and use our resources properly.

We need people from diverse backgrounds wit the skill sets and experience to take the lead in the following areas:-

  • Marketing and Communication - we need to raise our profile and reach out to potential users of our service
  • I.T. Support - we are only a small organisation but we still need someone to look after our computer systems, data and I.T. needs
  • Technical and Equipment - looking after our fleet of scooters and wheelchairs
  • Meetings Secretary - arranging and coordinating our quarterly Trustee meetings
  • Trustees - people with life experience and common sense to oversea the governance of the Charity

The Commitment:

Trustees are likely to spend 1 -2 days a month on their lead roles and are also expected to attend 2 hour, 3 monthly daytime monitoring meetings and other ad-hoc groups. Some of our Trustees also act as volunteers undertaking rota shifts in our two shops in Romford.
