Summer Reading Challenge Volunteer - (HVC-1818)

Do  you love to read ? Would you like to help young people to discover the joy of reading?

The summer reading challenge runs every year during the 6 week holidays throughout libraries. Children sign up at the library then read six library books of their choice and are rewarded with stickers for each book they have read.

Our summer reading volunteers talk to the children about the books they have read, reward the children with stickers and help with administration forms.

What skills do I need?

We are looking for volunteers with confidence and enthusiasm about books and reading, who likes working with children and has the patience to support people who are learning something new.

The volunteer may also be using IT, including the internet.

We need volunteers who are reliable and responsible to help our readers through this years summer challenge.

When do I need to be available?
