Squirrel Scout Leader - (HVC -1440)

6th Romford Scout Group

We are very excited to announce 6th Romford Scout Group is launching a Squirrel Drey and we are looking for  adult volunteers to help us do this. Squirrels is a new section of Scouting for children aged 4 to 6 years.  It was launched nationally in 2022 and has seen an amazing growth in popularity

You would be part of this exciting venture, helping to build and shape it's development from the very beginning

You would be delivering opportunities to youngsters within the Scouting framework, which sees young people earn badges though age-appropriate activities, all while gaining new skills and confidence.

Our volunteers love what they do! Working with young people can be incredibly rewarding, seeing them achieve and make new friends can stay with you for life.  Full training is provided with support and mentoring.

Experience of volunteering with the UK's largest co-educational youth organisation is a great addition to a volunteer's CV when applying for paid employment in the children and young people's sector.

What skills do I need?

No specific skills/qualifications required - full training and support given. Some experience of working with children may be useful but not essential.

It would be useful in this role to have good communication skills, the ability to work in a team, good interpersonal skills and an interest in working with children.

When do I need to be available?

Morning Afternoon Evening

The exact day for the Squirrel Drey to run has not yet been decided, it is expected the session will run between 4 - 6pm, for approx 1.30 hours

Where does this role take place?

Church Hall
5 Park End Road
