Musician Volunteers - HVC 2026

Are you a talented string player or trumpet player ? Then you could be part of the live musical experience for Shrek the Musical on Ice!

 We are looking for talented musicians, particularly string players and trumpet players, to support the production and help bring the performance to life through music.

As a Volunteer Musician, you will play an important role in enhancing the atmosphere and emotional impact of the show. You will be expected to rehearse and perform as part of a small ensemble, working closely with the production team to deliver a high-quality musical accompaniment. Musicians are essential to playing the Shrek The musical Score. Which creates a vibrant and immersive experience for both performers and audiences.

This is a fantastic opportunity to perform in a unique live setting, gain ensemble experience, and be part of an exciting, creative production. This opportunity requires a minimum commitment of one full day for performance, with rehearsals as required.

Availability across all three days is strongly preferred to ensure consistency and quality throughout the production.

What skills do I need?

We are looking for skilled and committed musicians who are confident performing in a live setting. The following skills and qualities are preferred:

• Grade 6+ (or equivalent) standard on your instrument (string or trumpet)

• Strong ability to read music and/or sight-read confidently

• Experience performing as part of an ensemble or group

• Good sense of timing, rhythm, and musicality

• Ability to follow direction and adapt to a live performance environment

• Reliability, punctuality, and commitment to rehearsals and performance

• Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively Previous experience in theatre, live performance, or orchestras is beneficial but not essential.
