Menopause Support Volunteer - HVC -1771

Menopause Awareness Group

We keen to raise awareness and reduce any stigma around menopause in the local community. This pilot menopause awareness group for Havering residents would run for 2 hours once a month after 17:30. 

We are looking for a volunteer with lived menopause experience to help in all aspects of this group. We will discuss as a group experiences, but  there will not be individual consultations of menopause advice. This will be general menopause information.

 Between us we can improve local resident’s physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing. Empower them wherever they are on their menopause journey and provide health equity in menopause by reducing health inequalities.

Your role would include the following tasks:-

  • Setting up and taking down the meeting room (seats for up to 20 people)
  • Welcoming and registering expected attendees
  • Distribute and collect feedback forms
  • Take part in the group session and share you own menopause experience (optional)
  • Take notes when requested

What skills do I need?

The idea volunteer would be:

  • Warm and welcoming, kind, sensitive with a good sense of humour.
  • Able to help carry chairs to put them out.
  • Basic note taking skills.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Good time keeping . 
  • Reliable and punctual

Volunteering takes place the first Thursday of each Month between 17.30 - 19.30 (timings include setting up and taking down chairs.)
