Market Town Suburban Legends - HVC - 2036

Havering London

Call All Performers!

Be Part of Suburban Legends

Romford Market has stood at the heart of Havering for centuries, a place of trade, spectacle, community, and unforgettable characters. Market Town is gathering the legends, myths, and memories that the market has inspired across generations and bringing them to life in a spectacular public celebration this August Bank Holiday.

We are looking for 100 residents to be part of Suburban Legends, a participatory parade that will animate Romford Market and its surrounding streets. No experience needed. Just enthusiasm, a love of Romford and a willingness to show up and take part.

What's involved:

·         You will be part of one of 25 stories brought to life through costume, movement, and performance.

·         You will receive a costume co-created by our community costume team and take part in a rehearsal before the big day.

Rehearsal: 22 August 2026

Parade: 29 August 2026

Please note attendance at both the rehearsal and the parade is required to participate.

Register your interest by 30 June 2026
