Maintenance Support Volunteer - HVC 1975

First Step

First Step are looking for a reliable volunteer with good all-round maintenance skills.

Under the direction of the Centre Manager, the Maintenance Support Volunteer  will carry out a variety of duties, to ensure the maintenance and up keep of the First Step building and grounds.

MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE:

• To assist with maintenance of the building and grounds of First Step

• To liaise with Centre Manager to ensure priority of work to be undertaken

• Must have the ability to work around the building and grounds of First Step unsupervised

• To comply with all First Step Policies and Procedures including Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Data Protection and Equality and Diversity

• To undertake training as required for the role

• To take part in regular supervision 

What skills do I need?

DESIRED SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS: 

• Must be able to undertake strenuous activity, including lifting, carrying, decorating and moving of equipment

• Familiar with using tools, equipment and machinery and receive training where necessary

• Experience of maintenance tasks including decorating to carpentry

• To work as part of the First Step team and independently in line with First Step’s Vision, Mission and Values

Minimum of 4 hours per week between 08:30 - 17:00
