House to Home Volunteer - HVC 2054

House to Home (H2H) is a community programme inspired by a successful initiative in Ireland. The programme supports people by improving their living spaces so they feel safer, more comfortable, and truly at home. Through practical help and kindness, volunteers make a positive difference to people’s wellbeing and quality of life.

As a House to Home Volunteer, you will help transform homes through decorating, painting, and small repair tasks. You will work as part of a friendly team to create welcoming, safe, and comfortable spaces for individuals and families in need, helping create a friendly and positive environment for residents 

 

Volunteers may support with:

• Painting and decorating rooms
• Basic DIY and small repair tasks
• Moving or assembling light furniture
• Cleaning and preparing spaces before and after work
• Supporting with simple home improvement projects
• Working respectfully in people’s homes

Volunteers will receive:

• An introduction to the House to Home programme
• Health and safety guidance
• Support from project coordinators and team leaders
• Information about safeguarding and working respectfully in people’s homes 

What skills do I need?

Previous decorating or DIY experience is helpful but not essential — guidance and support can be provided.

Volunteering takes place at properties across Havering on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10 - 4
