REACH
Rehabilitation, Education, Assessment Centre (REACH) provides Essex with much needed equine based therapies and rehabilitation techniques to Adults and Children suffering from a range of disabilities.
We provide high quality assessment and rehabilitation programmes, using trained horses, to give a treatment strategy for adults and children suffering with physical, mental, social and/or learning disabilities. We use our clinically led approach and specialist centre to offer a unique combination of Physiotherapy, Hippotherapy, Equine Assisted Learning and Pat Therapy (animal petting).
REACH will cater for all ages (1 year onward) and for a range of disabilities including cerebral palsy, down syndrome, developmental delay, spinal cord injury, brain Injuries, autism, learning disabilities and mental health disorders.
We need side walkers to walk beside the ponies or horses and make sure the child is secure, also if you have equine experience we also need leaders to lead the pony or horse around the school whilst therapy is given.
Equine experience would be useful but not essential as is a knowledge/ awareness of disabilities.
Training will be offered.
Anyone who is over the age of 12 can volunteer with us.
