Check-in-and-Chat Buddy HVC - 2130

Do you like a good chat ? Do you have some time each week to call a local Havering resident in need of support ?

During the Covid-19 pandemic HVC became acutely aware of how many people in the Havering area were housebound, isolated and lonely.  We discovered many local residents, of all ages,  were lonesome and companionless- not because of the problems caused by the pandemic but just how life has turned out for them.

In response to this need,  HVC's Check-in-and-Chat service was born.

6 years later we continue to support many of our original clients and the demand for this service continues to grow, year on year. 

Our check-in-and- chat buddies provide friendly, supportive, weekly telephone calls to anyone, of any age, who needs the service.  The companionship this call provides is invaluable to the local resident, sometimes you will be the only person they have spoken to that week.

Please note :  Check-in-and-Chat buddies are required to send us a telephone log for each call made, usually by email.
