Assistant Scout Leader (HVC-1958)

6th Romford Scout Group

We are the UK's biggest mixed youth organisation. We change lives by offering 10 - 14 year olds fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in communities.

Section Assistants are responsible, with the Leaders, helpers and members, for running games and activities as part of weekly section meetings and other section events.

The main tasks also include assisting young people to achieve badges and awards, assisting with residential experiences for the section as well as assisting the section with taking part in a varied, exciting and safe programme of activities.

Our volunteers love what they do! Working with young people can be incredibly rewarding, seeing them achieve and make new friends can stay with you for life.
Meeting like-minded people and enjoying activities are all part of a volunteer's experience with the Scout Association. Our volunteers have access (free-of-charge) to our national training programme to help them feel more confident in what they do.

Experience of volunteering with the UK's largest co-educational youth organisation is a great addition to a volunteer's CV when applying for paid employment in the children and young people's sector.

Please note the Scout meetings take place on Tuesdays 7:30 - 9:00pm.

Our Meeting place: St Edwards Catholic Church Community Centre, RM1 4AT. (Adjacent to Romford Library.)

There is a carpark accessed off Church Lane.
